The Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for the Probationary Officer/Management Trainee posts. This year, the 9th edition of IBPS recruitment of PO/MT has 4,336 vacancy.

Candidates will be selected through a common recruitment process that consists of three-stage process, i.e. Online Preliminary, Online Main, and Interview. The online application will begin by 7th August, 2019, till 28th August, 2019.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality / Citizenship: Candidates should either be a citizen of India, or a subject of Bhutan, or a subject of Nepal, or a Tibetan refugee who settled in India before the 01st of Jan. 1962, or a person of Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia, and Vietnam immigrant with Indian origin with a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India.
  2. Age: Candidates must be minimum 20 years of age, and maximum 30 years as on 01.08.2019.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • 5 years– Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe.
    • 3 years– Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer).
    • 10 years– Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as defined under “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”.
    • 5 years- Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by 5 years 3 way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service or invalidment.
    • 5 years– Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
    • 5 years– Persons affected by 1984 riots 5 years.
  1. Education Qualification (as on 28.08.2019): 
  • Candidates must hold a Degree certificate in any discipline from a University that is recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.

Exam pattern:

The exam pattern will remain the same as last year. The tables below contain the exam structure for preliminary and mains respectively.

Online Preliminary:
English Language 30 questions 30  max.marks English 20 minutes
Quantitative Aptitude 35 questions 35 max.marks English and Hindi 20 minutes
Reasoning Ability 35 questions 35 max.marks English and Hindi 20 minutes
Total 100 questions 100 max.marks

 

Online Mains:
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude 45 questions 60 max.marks English and Hindi 60 minutes
General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness 40 questions 40 max.marks English and Hindi 35 minutes
English Language 35 questions 40 max.marks English and Hindi 40 minutes
Data Analysis & Interpretation 35 questions 60 max.marks English and Hindi 45 minutes
Total 155 questions 200 max.marks English and Hindi 3 hours
English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) 2 questions 25 max.marks English 30 minutes

 

Selection Process:

  • The first stage is the in online preliminary examination- candidates who qualify are shortlisted for the mains exam.
  • The second stage is the online mains examination- candidates who qualify are shortlisted for the interview.
  • The third stage is the Common Interview- selected candidates are offered the posts of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee.
