    What is Employee’s Provident Fund Organization?

    Most of us are already aware of mainstream government exams like UPSC, SSC, SBI-PO, RBI Grade-B Exam, and so on and so forth. However, we are not aware of the exams conducted by EPFO. We don’t even know what EPFO is in the first place. So before we begin to discuss about the important details of the exam, let’s take a look at what EPFO is.

    EPFO, or Employee’s Provident Fund Organization is a government regulatory body. It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. The EPFO oversees and maintains the Employee’s Provident Fund that we already know about.

    (Employee’s Provident Fund is a retirement benefit scheme that is available to all salaried employees. This means that if you get selected, you will work in an organization that works in the business of managing and overseeing Employee’s Provident Fund.)

    How to apply for EPFO 2019 Assistant Exam:

    Go to the official EPFO website https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php and click on the option: “APPLY ONLINE FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF ASSISTANT-2019 IN EPFO”.

    Application Fee for EPFO 2019 Assistant Exam:

    • For General category: INR 500/-
    • SC/ST/PWD/ Departmental Candidates, Female Candidates & EWS:  250/-
    • Payment mode: Debit, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets

    Educational Qualification for EPFO 2019 Assistant Exam (as on 25 June 2019):

    The applicant must be a degree holder from a recognized University or equivalent.

    PLEASE NOTE: Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed Educational / Professional qualification SHOULD NOT APPLY.

    Pay scale for EPFO 2019 Assistant Exam:

    Level- 7 of Pay Matrix (Civilian employees) under 7th Pay Commission with Entry Pay of Rs. 44,900/-. In addition to Pay, they will also be eligible for DA, HRA and Transport Allowance and other allowances as per rules in force from time to time.

    Abbreviation : EWS- Economic Weaker Section, SC- Schedule Caste, ST – Schedule Tribe, OBC-NCL – Other Backward Caste- Non Creamy Layer, UR – Unreserved, PwD- Person with Disability.
