Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi has announced admissions to its programmes beginning July 2018.
About FMS
FMS, established in 1954 under the aegis of the Delhi University, is one of the oldest B-schools in India. FMS started off in the premises of the Delhi School of Economics. Later, the department of commerce of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), now the Delhi Technological University (DTU), was abolished and the Faculty of Management Studies was established.

Eligibility Criteria
Two Year Full Time MBA Programme
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of: 50% – GEN | 45% SC/ST
- Candidates appearing for the final year of examination of Bachelor’s degree can also apply
Note: Candidates appearing for the final year of examination of Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of scores till the time of application, provided that they expect to fulfil the eligibility criteria when their results are declared.
Two Year Evening Executive Programme
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 45%
- A candidate should have at least 5 years of work experience. Experience shall be determined as on 1st April 2018
MBA Executive (Health Care Administration) Programme
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 45%
- A candidate should have at least 5 years of work experience. Experience shall be determined as on 1st April 2018
Ph.D. Programme
- Master’s/M.Phil. degree or a Post graduate degree (in an equivalent allied subject) with a minimum aggregate of 55% from any recognised university
- Candidates having a MBA/Master’s Degree from a recognised university will be required to write CAT 2017 for admission to the Ph.D. programme

Selection Procedure (For Flagship Programme)
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process on the basis of CAT 2017 scores
(Weightage: VARC – 40%, DILR- 30%, QA- 30%)
- The selection process requires a candidate to appear for GD, Extempore & PI
- From this year the final selection will be on the basis of:
- CAT Score – 60%
- Marks obtained in class 10th – 5%
- Marks obtained in class 12th – 5%
- Group discussion – 10%
- Extempore – 5%
- Personal Interview – 15%
Note: An additional 3% of the maximum aggregate marks shall be awarded to the women candidates who appear for the interview while drawing the merit list for final selection.

I heard FMS is giving weightage to 10th and 12th marks this year. Is this correct?
Sir, FMS has changed the weightages to different criteria in admission process. In the information bulletin found on the FMS website it states the following-
From the shortlisted candidates, admission to MBA programme shall be based on Extempore Speech,
Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Class X & Class XII marks and CAT 2017 scores as provided by
CAT centre. The following weight – system will be applied for drawing the merit list of final selection:
1. CAT 2017 Score – 60%
2. Marks obtained in Class X – 5%
3. Marks obtained in Class XII – 5%
4. Group Discussion – 10%
5. Extempore – 5%
6. Personal Interview – 15%
An additional 3% of the maximum aggregate marks shall be awarded to the women candidates who
appear for the interview while drawing the list of selected candidates.
