MHRD guideline for JEE Examination

As per the latest notification released by the Ministry of Human Resource Department, the criteria to ascertain the ranks of JEE aspirants has been modified. The IIT council had formed a committee last year to improve the selection criteria of JEE aspirants. After due consultation with the stakeholders, the committee submitted its report suggesting two changes in the existing system of JEE.  After examining the report of the committee, the Ministry of Human Resource Department has released a new guideline on board score for JEE, approving both the changes as suggested by the committee.

The approved changes are:
1.  There shall be no weightage of class 12th marks in calculating the ranks of JEE Mains exams.

  1. The candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in their class 12th Board Exams or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th Board exams conducted by the respective boards to qualify for admission in NIITs/IITs/IIITs or such other exams whose admissions are based on the JEE ranks. For SC/ST students, the qualifying score should be 65% in the class 12th Exam.

No changes apart from these two have been introduced in the JEE Examination system for the year 2017.

Stay tuned for more updates!
