CBSE announces re-examination of Class 12th Eco and Class 10th Maths papers

5

Amidst reports of alleged paper leaks, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to reschedule the Class 12th Economics and Class 10 Mathematics exams. The dates for the exam shall be released on the CBSE website within a week, the board said in a statement.

Source: ANI

Earlier last week, images of a handwritten question paper were wildly circulated among various Whatsapp groups. However, on Monday, when the teachers handed over the papers to the students, it came to their notice that the question paper was the same that they had previously received.

A couple of weeks earlier on March 15 too, the Delhi Government said that it had received reports of class 12 CBSE Accountancy paper being leaked following which an investigation was ordered, even as the board denied any such leak.

“We have checked with all examination centres and the paper was not leaked. The source of the circulation of this information is not known yet. We want to urge the students and parents to not panic and assure them that the board is doing its best to ensure sanctity of the examination,” a senior CBSE official had said.

Meanwhile, some parents, teachers, and students have decided to move to Delhi High Court seeking re-exams and independent probe into the matter. Some of the students and teachers have claimed that even the class XII Biology exam and the Class X Social Studies were also leaked among others.

We shall bring you the latest official reports on CBSE Board exams soon.

Congratulations Bhargav Thankey for a perfect 1000/1000 score in GATE 2018!

GATE 2018

A twenty-year-old final-year student of Computer Science, Bhargav Thankey of Ahmedabad brought laurels to the city by scoring a perfect 1000/1000 in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). His All India Rank 4 in GATE 2018 implies that Bhargav can walk into any college of his choosing for a Post-Graduation course.

This year, the GATE exam was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati on behalf of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. It is estimated that more than 8.5 lakh students sat for the exam, held across 23 different disciplines of Engineering.

A classroom student of I.C.E GATE Institute in Ahmedabad, Bhargav, who loves listening to country music – especially John Denver – in his free time shared that he owed his success to his parents, his college teachers, and the “absolutely awesome” faculty at I.C.E.

Here’s what he had to say about his journey toward scoring a perfect 1000/1000 in GATE 2018:

I appeared for GATE because I wanted to study at India’s premier institutes like IISc and IIT. Now I am going to pursue M. Tech at IISc.

After joining ICE Gate Academy in July 2016, I started preparing for some subjects straight away. As soon as the subject was completed in class, I solved its questions asked in previous GATE exams. I used this strategy for some of my favourite subjects.

For other subjects (the ones I didn’t enjoy), I started preparing in November after my university exams. When possible, I used reference books but some subjects were very tedious and I prepared those from notes.

I was completely prepared by January 15, and then, all I did was attempt online mock tests.”

It brings us great joy to see our students realize their dreams.

If you have any queries related to preparation for GATE, please feel free to write to us in the comments below and we’ll get back to you with a prompt response.
