An Indian engineer, son of an IAS officer, Satyanarayan Nadella has an intriguing career story. He joined the league of technological whizz by his outstanding work and dedication. Nadella was born into a Telugu Indian family and completed his primary education from Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet.
Satya Nadella wanted to pursue computer science after his secondary education. He was keen on matching pace with technological evolutions and developing modern ways to improve the lives of the masses. His passion was at precocious stage while studying at Manipal Institute of Technology, where he attained his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1988. Electrical engineering was a driving force for his passion. Subsequently, he resettled in the U.S. to pursue an M.S. Degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1990. Afterwards, Nadella earned his MBA degree from one of the best business schools in the world “The University of Chicago Booth School of Business”.
After completing his education, he planned to step into the corporate world and started working with a well-known firm Sun Microsystem as a member of its technology staff. He moved to the Silicon Valley giant “MICROSOFT” in 1992 and from there his career witnessed an exponential increase.
Nadella’s career planning and educational background doubtlessly played a great role scheming his technical, leadership and decisiveness abilities. Among those few employees, he was the one who suggested the concept of cloud computing and went on to implement it in the interest of the organization. His ground breaking achievement within the firm was the germination of one of the World’s largest cloud based entities named “Microsoft Azure”.
Later on, he shouldered the responsibility of R&D department which was a part of the online service division and continued as the senior Vice President of the department for the next four years from 2007. Nadella was repositioned and appointed as the President of the systems and tools division of Microsoft, the annual turnover of which is said to be around $20 billion.
After dedicating 22 years of his life in an IT giant “MICROSOFT”, his career touched the skies when he was promoted as the “CEO of MICROSOFT”. When he got hold of this position, Bill Gates rejoined the company to become his personal mentor. The tech wizard soon became popular among sections of media and he is often invited as a guest speaker in various events across the US. As a CEO of Microsoft, he is one of the most powerful Indian-born tech executives in the world.
