Tata Institute of Social Sciences, popularly known as TISS, with the announcement of TISS-NET 2018 (Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test) has marked the start of its admission process for the batch of 2018-2020. TISS-NET is Tata Institute’s national level entrance test for its Master’s in Arts Programmes across all the campuses.
About TISS
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936. It was only in the year 1964 that it was announced to be a Deemed University. TISS is a symbol of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge. TISS has campuses in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati, and Chennai.
About TISS-NET
TISS-NET is Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test. It is an online entrance exam conducted by TISS for its Full-Time Post Graduate Degree Programs offered across campuses of TISS.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (except for a few specific courses) from a recognized university;
- Candidates in their final year are also eligible to apply, they will be required to furnish the documents of having completed all the requirements of final year by 2nd June 2018;
- Candidates in final year are eligible to apply only if they have passes all the exams of their semester up until the date of applying.

· Preference will be given to Graduates in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Disability rehabilitation related streams; · Graduates with at least 2 years of work experience in the field of Social Work will be preferred. |
| M.A. (Organization Development, Change and Leadership) | · Final year students are not eligible to apply for this course;
· Candidates must have 2 years of professional experience after graduation. |
| Master of Public Health (Health Administration) | · Final year students are not eligible to apply for this course;
· Candidates must have completed their internship on or before 10th June 2017. |
| Master of Hospital Administration | · Final year students are not eligible to apply for this course;
· Candidates must have completed their internship on or before 10th June 2017. |
| Master of Public Health (Health Policy, Economics and Finance) | · Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any discipline or a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical, pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering or law;
· Final year students are not eligible to apply for this course; · Candidates must have completed their internship on or before 10th June 2017. |
| Master of Public Health (Social Epidemiology) | · Candidate should have a Master’s degree in any discipline or a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, paramedical, pharmacy, veterinary sciences, engineering or law;

| M.A./M.Sc. (Urban Policy and Governance) | · Graduation in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Physical Sciences, Geography, Planning, Law or Social Sciences. |
| M.A. (Applied Psychology with specialization in Counseling Psychology) | · Candidates must hold B.A. Psychology, B.A./B.Sc. Home Science with specialization in Child/Human development, B.A. Social Work, B.A. General with minimum three papers in Psychology;
· Final year students can also apply. |
| M.A. (Applied Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology) | · Candidates must hold B.A. Psychology, B.A. General with minimum three papers in Psychology;

Registration Process:
Candidates can apply either ONLINE or OFFLINE. Offline mode is for candidates living in remote areas where connectivity of internet is not appropriate.
To apply online:
- Candidates are required to visit the official portal of TISS i.e.; http://admissions.tiss.edu/
- Create a login id and password;
- Fill in all the required personal and educational details;
- Review all the details filled;
- Click on “Proceed to Payment” and pay the required fee;
- Review your details once again and click on “Submit” tab.
To apply offline:
- Candidates need to send a request for the form to the TISS, Mumbai campus along with the application fee;
- After receiving the form the candidates are required to fill the form as per the instructions given;
- Once the form has been filled candidates have to send it to the same address via speed post.
TISS-NET Exam Pattern:
The exam pattern of TISS-NET is as follows:

- There will be no negative marking in the exam;
- Number of answer choices per question will be 4.
Selection Procedure:
The candidates will go through three stages before finally getting selected into the Master’s course of TISS. Following the stages of selection:

- None of the stages are eliminating;
- For final selection overall performance of candidate in all the three stages; NET (40%), PTI (30%) & PI (30%) is considered.
