There is a big news for Medical aspirants based out or admiring for admissions in Maharashtra!
As per the new resolution passed by the Government of Maharashtra, Govt and Pvt. colleges will accept NEET scores with effect from JEE 2017.
The gazette dated 1/12/2016 states- from now the admission in private medical colleges and deemed institutes of Maharashtra for professional health science courses in the academic year 2017-2018 will be conducted through a centralized admission process and will be based on the NEET-National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test scores.
The notification regarding the application process was issued by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). As per the notification, the admission process will cover all seats, excluding the institutional quota seats in deemed institutes.
As per the new gazette on Govt/Pvt colleges accept NEET scores:
- MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BPTh, BOTh, B.Sc nursing, BASLP and BP&O courses are deckared as professional health science courses.
- The eligibility criteria for these courses will be changed as per the concerned council or the state government from time to time.
- The admission process for the above courses in the government or private colleges will be carried out by the State CET Cell, Commissioner, Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai.
