  1. “Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.” what does this statement means in the notification..then how will the chances counted? Mam, can you throw some light on this…TIA.!

    • Hi Anmol,
Apologies for the delay in response.
The inference that drawn from the statement implies that the candidate who has appeared in prelims exam 2015 but not in mains, then this will not be counted as a chance and the candidate will be eligible for 2016.

Note: the two phase written exam ( Prelims + Mains) introduced since 2015.

For example, a candidate already appeared X times before Prelims 2015 and then he/she appeared in Prelims 2015 but not in Mains 2015, then the number of chance will be counted as X ( not X + 1).

  2. What may be the expected cut-off marks for upcoming SBI PO 2016 exam for general category??
Maximum how many questions has to be answered each section to get cleared in prelims??

    • Although, the expected depends on the level of difficulty of the question paper, but if I assume the difficulty level to be the same as that of last year, I believe the cut off should be close to 45-50 marks.

besides that, I believe you are trying to ask a minimum number of questions in each section (although you wrote maximum- it can be all 100 :P), I believe you should be attempting at least 12-14 questions in each section so as to ensure you get through the sectional cut off. Rest you have to make up through your strong section(s) to stretch your scores to 48 or 50.

      Wish you all the best!!
