State Bank of India (SBI) has changed the exam pattern of SBI PO Main 2016. As per the latest updates available on SBI website, the key highlights are:
- The SBI PO Main examination will have the following pattern –

Total | 155 | 200 | 3 hours |
The changes in SBI PO Main from the last year are:
(i) Number of questions changed in each section and the total number of question decreased from 200 to 155.
(ii) Time duration increased from 2 hours to 3 hours.
(iii) Sectional time limit has been introduced.
(iv) Till last year, there used to be equal weightage for each question, which is not so now.
- The objective online test will be followed by the descriptive online test. The Test is of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks and will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
- Those who qualify in the main examination, will be called for next stage – the GD & Interview process. You may note that GD will be of 20 marks, while interview will be of 30 marks.
- In final selection, the 225 marks of Main examination and the 50 marks of GD & interview will be normalized to 75 and 25 marks respectively.
