The only certainty about CLAT has always been its uncertainty! CLAT 2018 has sprung another surprise within a week, after introducing a new interface. Used to the format which has been prevailing since 2015 (when CLAT went online), the news about continuous changes in interface has left many stunned, bordering on being panicky.

The Challenges

The new interface (as shown on the CLAT Admit Card login page, while attempting the demo test) shows the following important changes, which will be introduced this year:

  1. Tabs are getting replaced by new buttons to move from one question to another.
  2. ‘Marked for Review’ gets replaced by Tag and De-tag.
  3. Earlier, when the new interface was shown, there were no section tabs, however, with just 5 days left, CLAT has introduced a drop down to select and navigate through sections.
  4. One of the instructions discourages candidates to use the ‘Next Question’ tab multiple times, as it will lead to the page freezing, followed by restarting of the test.
  5. Text size can be increased or decreased with the ‘Text Size’ tab provided on the left-hand corner.

 How to Overcome the Challenges?

We are proud to announce that LST has already moved to the new interface. Our students have started writing the Mocks on a similar interface given by CLAT.

However, many are still worried about this last-moment surprise; and are wary of any further surprises which CLAT might come up with on May 13. Although one cannot foresee what is in store on the day of the exam, here’s what students can do:

  • Practise as much as possible with the new format.
  • Get accustomed to the new interface given; and learn how to use the text-size buttons for maximum benefit.
  • Most importantly, do not panic. This move has caught everyone by surprise.

With just 5 days left till the exam, getting acquainted with the new interface is crucial. Join our 3 CLAT Mock  Test Series which allows you to do just that, alongside detailed analysis, performance benchmarking, and lots more.
