CBSE restored class X board exam structure

Dear students! a very important news for you all. CBSE restored class X board exam structure.

Central Board of Secondary Education has passed a circular dated 31st January 2017 to the heads of the schools affiliated to CBSE. The circular consequent upon the decision taken by the governing body of CBSE stating that the dual scheme of the examination of Class X will discontinue for the students appearing for board exam from academic year 2017-2018 and onward. Also, the exam from 2017-18 academic year and onward will be conducted as per the restored class X board exam structure by CBSE. The CBSE restored class X board exam structure is mentioned below:

For Scholastic area the reconstructed board exam structure is:

  Total 100 marks

(Syllabus for assessment will only be class 10th)

Subject 80 marks Board examination (students have to secure 33% marks in out of 80 marks in each subject) 20 Marks Internal Assessment

(Students have to secure 33% marks out of 20 marks in each subjects)

Periodic Test

(10 marks)

Notebook submission (05 marks) Subject Enrichment activity (05 marks)

Language 1 ·         Board will conduct class X examination for 80 marks in each subjects covering 100% syllabus of the subjects of class X only.

·         Marks and grades both will be awarded for individual subjects

·         9 point grading will be same as followed in class XII board examination.

·         Periodic written test is restricted to 3 in each subject in an academic year.

·         Average of best two test to be taken for final marks submission.

This will cover:

·         Regularity

·         Assignment completion

·         Neatness and upkeep of notebook.

Speaking and listening skills
Language 2 Speaking and listening skills
Science Practical lab work
Mathematics Math lab practical
Social Science Map work and project work
6th additional subject Scheme of studies for 6th additional subject is given in detail in the official notification of CBSE here.

For Co-Scholastic activities students will be graded on 5 points scale (A-E) for work education and Pre-vocational education.
