SSC CHSL Recruitment Notification, Nov 2017: Apply Online

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC CHSL Recruitment Notification for the post of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

Pay of the Posts:
Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs.1900 (pre-revised)
Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)
Data Entry Operator(DEO): Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised) and
Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised

SSC CHSL Date of Tier-I Examination (Computer Based Exam): 4th March to 26th march 2018
SSC CHSL Date of Tier-II Examination (Descriptive Paper): 08.07.2018

Tentative vacancies for the posts of LDC/ JSA, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and DEO are 898, 2359, 2 and Data Entry Operator Grade”A”- Nil, respectively.

When will  the exam be conducted?
Staff Selection Commission will hold the examination from 4th March 2018 to 26th March 2018  in a computer based pattern.

 Age criteria to apply in this Examination:

Different post have different age criteria. Candidates are required to make sure about their age and qualification before applying for the examination. Age-Relaxation Permissible beyond the Upper age limit.

Age Limit as on 1st August 2018 (18-27 years)

Fee structure:
General Candidates: Rs 100

Mode of Examination : Examination will be held in a computer based pattern. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

SSC CHSL Tier II Exam Pattern

This is a descriptive exam (DES) and is conducted offline. Candidates need to write Essay/Letter/Application/Precis. This is to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi.

Important Points:

  • The time duration is 60 minutes and carries 100 marks.
  • The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.

SSC CHSL Tier-III Examination
Tier-III of the Examination would be the Skill Test/ Typing Test which would be of qualifying nature.
The final merit of the successful candidates would be determined on the basis of total score obtained by them in Tier-I and Tier-II.

Selection Criteria

As per the official SSC CHSL Recruitment Notification, candidates will be shortlisted and recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of their total marks in the Paper – I & II and preference for the posts.
